Are u a victim of psychological violence?

What is psychological violence?

In the Philippines, women and children are protected against abuse committed by abusive husband and father. Under RA 9262 "Psychological violence" refers to acts or omissions causing or likely to cause mental or emotional suffering of the victim such as but not limited to intimidation, harassment, stalking, damage to property, public ridicule or humiliation, repeated verbal abuse and mental infidelity. It includes causing or allowing the victim to witness the physical, sexual or psychological abuse of a member of the family to which the victim belongs, or to witness pornography in any form or to witness abusive injury to pets or to unlawful or unwanted deprivation of the right to custody and/or visitation of common children.

As debtors, psychological violence becomes part of our lives, sad to say, no law has been passed in our country protecting the dignity of debtors. We became victims of harrassments of collectors, who , in order to earn commissions employs evil tactics to threaten us. Victims suffered humiliation at the workplace, sleepless nights, depression and there were some who could not stand committed suicide.

I just hope and pray that someday our lawmakers will give priority to the pending bill protecting the rights of credit card debtos.

Am calling all the victims to stand and unite to end the malpractice.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. (by Edmond Burke).
